Have a wee stroll around the grounds and you will feel how this place is steeped in history.
You will find 170 million years old Dinosaur footprints at the beach. An Iron age Broch of significant importance in the Dun (=Broch) Flodigarry walled garden. The famous Flora MacDonald’s cottage where she got married, lived and raised her children. A Hunting lodge built in 1892. And some newer history, two absolutely stunning suites that transformed the Dun Flodigarry.
A Hotel since 1928
The Flodigarry opened its doors as hotel in 1928. Inside the main house now oozes the grandeur of the 1920s. Built as a Hunting lodge in 1892 as a private house by famous architect Major R.J. Livingston MacDonald.
The big refurbishment 2013-2020
Over the past few years the whole hotel estate has been rebuilt, renovated and refurbished. Inside and out.
A new bar, restaurant, lounge, lobby, conservatory and new landscaped gardens.
